This impressively sized 1950s brooch has a fabulous starburst design but could feature as a snowflake design for colder climes. It features a large number of translucent and iridescent circular and oval stones surrounded by cloudy pale blue-white stones in teardrop and circular shapes, all individually prong set. The colours of the stones emulate milk opals. The metal is silver-toned. To the rear of the brooch you can really see the complexity of the craftsmanship and attention to detail in laying the different sections of the brooch over one another. At the rear, there is a long clasp which is secured with a C-clasp. It is engraved “Jewelcraft” on a silver-toned plaque on the rear. Jewelcraft was the British arm of the great US manufacturer Coro, one of the best 20th-century costume designers which rivalled Trifari.

The brooch is in superb vintage condition with no losses or faults to note.
