I have a few variations of these caftans landing in the shop. All came from a woman who traveled extensively and spent a lot of time in Morocco during the late 1970s and she apparently wore these there. She had these caftans custom made in a variety of color and fabric combinations. Each is the same loose and easy shape and all are made out of what feels like a silk and linen mix fabric that has just a touch of transparency to it, They are so chic and the perfect topper to just about anything. They move and billow with the slightest bit of movement and are so flattering on. The trim is a flat embroidered panel done in silver thread. It is set on a stiffening back panel that keeps the shape and gives it a slight feel of structure. It also keeps it sitting on your shoulders. The edges are finished with a silver piping. These are almost identical in shape to the iconic Thea Porter's Abaya caftan and you can see this may have been where her inspiration was drawn from. The color of this one is the perfect inky black that will go with anything. Excellent condition

Unlined and has no true closures. There is a bit of a braided cord at the center front that you could use to tie it if you wished.
